The Grange Photographic Society
The Grange Photographic Society was originally formed as the Magnet Photographic Society in 1922. Since then it has been the GEC Photographic Society associated with GEC Telecommunications, GPT and Marconi and is now part of the Copsewood Social Club.
We are a based in the Johnson Room at the Copsewood Sports and Social Club, off Allard Way, Coventry, CV3 1JP. We meet on Wednesday Evenings at 7:45 pm.
Counter intuitively the entrance to the Sports and Social Club is at the rear of the building overlooking the bowling green.
The society is affiliated to the Midland Counties Photographic Federation and is a founding member of the Mercia Group of Photographic Societies. There are currently 21 members.
Our Weekly programme runs throughout the year and includes lectures, practical evenings, outings and a variety of competitions and challenges. We also have a number of friendly competitions with other Clubs in the area.
The current programme can be seen on the web site as well as a gallery of members work.
We have Quarterly competitions which are open subjects for prints and digital images as well as themed competitions. An annual cup is awarded to the overall winners of these.
The club enters a number of external exhibitions, and arranges the delivery and collection of work for these.
